It was exhibited in Melbourne in 1922 and was soon purchased and donated to the Art Gallery of West Australia by Mr W H Vincent and remains one of their greatest attractions. The farmer on horse back droving his sheep into the hot glare of the afternoon sun gives a feeling of harshness of the summer.
